Journey to the suburb of Tokyo: Charm of Chichibu②
Located in the western part of Saitama Prefecture, Chichibu is full of historic and touristic sites, such as Nagatoro and Chichibu Shrine with the national scenic spot and cobblestone, delicious local cuisine, and activities to enjoy nature, such as hiking in the mountains and going down the river in Arakawa! This time we will introduce Nagatoro with its activity.

Cobblestone:
The "Nagatoro cobblestone", which spreads on the both shores of the Arakawa River, which flows through Chichibu, is a natural museum that has attracted attention for a long time in geology research, created by large-scale crustal deformation. "Chichibu Akakabe" on the opposite side is very beautiful when it shines in the sun setting, and fresh green and wisteria flowers are colored in spring and autumn leaves in autumn. It is one of Chichibu and Nagatoro's top tourist attractions that enjoy river views and rafting that offer superb views of the surrounding area.
Rafting:
Rafting is an activity that consists on boarding on a small rubber raft, going down the rapid stream. "Water Park Nagatoro Rafting" holds a half-day rafting tour where first graders can participate in. Seeing the cobblestone of the natural monument while descending the river is simply outstanding! ・Nagatoro Zip Line

Move your body at "Forest Adventure Chichibu", Chichibu's large-scale athletic facility, equipped with 6 zip lines and 29 bridge activities. In addition to using the whole body to climb and cross to capture the route, the zips line that slips through the green at high speed is so refreshing! As this activity can be participated from fourth grader, it is good to experience with the whole family.
