Sakura cherry blossom forecast for 2020 !
You were all waiting for it...here it comes!
The forecast for the blooming of cherry trees in Japan.
Like a weather anchorman, we made a list, as below, of the days when the cherry flower buds will start to open as well as the day when they will be fully bloomed and the prettiest.
The blooming will start in Tokyo and Kochi around March the 19th, and will run its course through Kyushu and Tokai.
This year, although budding was expected to be late because of the gentle winter, a faster growth due to a warm spring is expected. The effects of such weather should be more important than the ones of a warm winter. Thus, buds should bloom earlier than previous years throughout the country.
🌸 Western Japan
From October to December, the temperature was higher than the average. Because of a warm winter, budding should be about 1 week to 10 days late in comparison to previous years. However, from January to March, temperartures are forecast to be higher than the average.
The flower blossom will be on average earlier than other years.
🌸 Eastern Japan
From October to December, the temperature was higher than the average. Because of this tendency, budding should be from a few days to one week late in comparison to previous years. However, from January to March, temperartures are forecast to be higher than the average.
The flower blossom will be on average earlier than other years.
🌸 Northern Japan
In October average temperatures were much higher than usual and in November and December, it was similar to previous years.
Because of the high temperature in October, budding should be on average later than usual, from a few days to one week late. However, it seemed that it already started.
From January to March, temperatures are forecast to be higher than the average. The flower blossom could happen either at the same time as the previous years or earlier.
