How did this year's Aki Matsuri, hosted in Las Vegas, go?

2019年 11月08日

The 10th annual Aki Matsuri Japanese Festival made its center-strip debut in Las Vegas on Saturday, Oct. 26 at The Park  and New York-New York Hotel & Casino with an immersive all-day celebration of Japanese music, entertainment, art and cuisine.
Hosting this wonderful celebration is an exciting way for us to share Japan’s vibrant culture with the local community as well as visitors from around the world” said Brian Sandoval, MGM Resorts’ President of Global Gaming Development. “MGM Resorts and MGM Japan remain committed to celebrating the beauty of Japan through public art, entertainment and cuisine, and Aki Matsuri brings them all together in one incredible event.

In case you missed the festival this year, there were an amazing Bridal Kimono Quick Change show, a Cosplay Event, Mochi pounding, and for the first time ever, a Taiko Show (traditional Japanese drum) featuring groups from Las Vegas, California, Hawaii and Japan. As if that wasn't enough, we had an ikebana (Japanese flower arranging) demonstration, a haiku contest, and our popular Sake Pavilion. And the evening concluded with the traditional Bon Odori (traditional dance) around the yagura overlooking Las Vegas Boulevard.
We were invited to this wonderful festival from one of the hosts, Nevada Kanko Service, and promote our products such as Peak Experience Japan, Japan Yacht Experience, and My lodge Naoshima. To all of you who came to our booth and stopped by, thank you so much for your interest in us!
