In today's society. it’s easy to buy pretty much anything premade, so a chance to create something by yourself does not come as often.

Why not use this out of the ordinary chance where you travel to Japan to create something traditional with your own hands? Afterwards, you can take the finished product back home and show it off to your family and friends!

In Japan, there exists a culture of giving travel gifts to the people close to you. Whenever you set out on a trip, you should think about your friends and co-workers and what you would want to buy for them. In each area of Japan, there are products which are celebrated as an area specialty product, so that would be something you would usually want to buy. Most of the area specialty products can be bought inside the specialized “travel gift” shops, and although they might make the person that receives them happy. nothing compares to the effort and thought put into creating something original by yourself and giving it away as a gift to those closest to you.

There are some traditional workshops that you can join, such as those for pottery, lacquer-ware and Washi (Japanese paper). You might think that the item you’ve created is not good enough because it was not created by a professional, but if you think about it, the item you’ve created doesn’t exist anywhere else in the world and it’s one of a kind!

These kinds of tours do not come as often, so they are quite valuable. Muster up your courage and challenge yourself!
